AVILLA – Restore Avilla has requested, at the April 17 Town Council Meeting, that the Town of Avilla apply for an OCRA Planning Grant. The grant would be used for an engineering plan for way finding signs around the downtown area as well as decorative street lights to match Albion Street, along Main Street.
Once the planning is complete they would then be asking the town to apply for a Main Street Revitalization Program Grant to purchase the signs and lights as well as install them. The maximum amount which can be applied for is $40,000; 10% of that would be local matching funds. It is not yet determined where the matching funds will come from but they plan to determine that when the time comes.
The Town Council gave approval for the Town Manager to apply for the Planning Grant.
